  1. This diskette contains batch files to correct all the known problems in BTRIEVE
  2. version 5.11 (including server based version as well).  To install the patches
  3. follow these steps:
  4.  
  5.         1. Copy all the files on the diskette to the directory on your system
  6.            that contains the file(s) to be patched and make this the default
  7.            directory.
  8.  
  9.         * NOTE: Make sure that you are patching the original (unpatched)
  10.                 released version of the software.  Patching a patched version
  11.                 may cause unpredictable errors.
  12.  
  13.         2. Make sure that PI.EXE is available on the system. (PI.EXE is a patch
  14.            utility provided by NOVELL to install product patches- it may be
  15.            used in DOS or OS/2 environments).
  16.  
  17.         3. Run the batch file
  18.  
  19.                 PATCH511.BAT    :corrects the NLM version
  20.  
  21.                                  Files with a .ORG extension are the original
  22.                                  unpatched version of the product.  They are
  23.                                  created the first time you patch the ORIGINAL
  24.                                  software for the file specified.
  25.                                  *** MAKE SURE THE FIRST TIME YOU PATCH- YOU
  26.                                      ARE PATCHING THE ORIGINAL AND NOT A
  27.                                      PATCHED COPY
  28.  
  29.                 PATCH511.CMD    :is the same as PATCH511.BAT.  This batch file
  30.                                  is for use under OS/2.
  31.  
  32. Bugs.511 is the listing of the problems that will be fixed by applying the
  33. patch files as well as a couple of patches that are optional so please
  34. read the document. At the beginning of each problem description there is
  35. a listing in which version(s) a bug is relevant.
